Hello Meera and Resplendence, Apologies for the late reply. Was facing some tech issue with Suls and not able to respond on mine or anyone else's blogs. Now your Q about the missing word "journal" from the story. The rules of flash fiction said that one could also imply the word "journal". The protagonist of this story is a journalist chronicling war crimes. So there... Bunty.

A fantastic analogy of human behaviour. And rightly said that one is not better or worse than the other. Just different....
I do believe just like you that people who love animals are generally the ones who might understand you if you are struggling in a situation. Its as if they have this periscope that picks signals but does not smoother with their compassion. Just waits patiently so the other knows they are there if need be.

Hello Shobhana, So good to see you on this space after long :) I read up the rules of the contest and it mentioned that even if you didnt mention the word "Journal" but implied the same in the story, it would be acceptable. The protagonist of my story is a journalist who chronicles war stories. So there.... I hope I'm let off by my explanations :)) Bunty.
