We love to judge others. Prepare our special dyes and cast people in their respective and appropriate moulds. Any individual that does not subscribe to our dyes are perpetual offenders. And the sculptures that waver a bit from its original mould are branded warped.
An appropriate widow has to shun bright colours. Dance and music are for the young. Sex is a taboo. Displays of conjugal behaviours are disapproved. The old have past their age to have fun and the young have to be reigned in.
There is this immense scrambling to snuff out anything that spells fulfillment. We thrive in seeing people struggle.
Is being intelligent and having the power to think being suitably used? Isn’t the fungus that’s growing on our mind-set becoming deadlier?
When will we unlearn to cast the first stone? When will we accept people who are different with contrary ideas from ours? When will we acknowledge that someone else might be right? When will we stop calling people “freaks”?
Most importantly…when will non-english speakers intelligence not be judged? The snobbery that I see around me sometimes stifles!

Hiya Pakhi,

Good to see you here. It is important to assess (judging has a somewhat negative connotation to it...lol) situations / people. That way you can mingle and relate to people who interest you.
But there are people who do not fall under ones approved list and this does not mean they are misfits. It just means you gottu do your own thing and let them do there's....
Orkut is such a kiddo site yaar....just cant stand it and honestly dont have the time to talk to strangers....
Hugs!

Bunty,
Thats a very apt issue you've raised. But i figure its important to judge people too, otherwise how do you distinguish right from wrong. Now, I can't be pals with osama Bin Laden ryte?
But what I agree to is - Live and let live. You don't need to be a snob , a bully or you dont need to insult them if they do not seem to be right according to you...especially all the back biting , bitching sessions and rumours that go in rounds!
afterall right and wrong are both relative according to the person...na?
As of the non-english speaking tribe. I have just have one query for them, guys if you aren't comfortabble in it why make a fool of yourself just pretending to be cool.
You've got to be on Orkut Bunty , to understand this paradox....and when u would get atleast 10-15 *I wanna frandship wid u* invites every single day by guys who have put Bikes , Babes and Booze as their interests/passion on their orkut profile ....and even greater crap elsewhere.....okay enuf rant for the day!
sorry couldn't help it :P

Priya,

Yet again you have said something that sounds so familiar...sister in arms we are indeed...lol!
So much similarity in our backgrounds too....and what you say about your amma...ditto on this side. I often ask ma why she cares about such petty things when she herself never believed in seeing others behave similarly in our family. She's a champion in forward thinking when it applies to others but is still bogged down by the same things when it comes to her own life.
We love to make ourselves miserable trying to live up to other peoples expectations. Sad!

I so hear you. My mom, who wears the bindi after my father's passing, removes it when anyone from Appa's family comes to see her. She's afraid of being judged by them.
God, who makes these rules? At heart we are just as vibrant no matter what the age.

Hiya Meera,

So good to see you on this space. How have you been?
Truth is there is hardly, rarely you see an open minded person. Who doesn't judge but just interacts based on the moment.
Yep...you're right! This problem is universal. I know of an ex-colleague who used to discourage employing gays. What impact does work have due to ones sexual preferences beats me even now.
Loved your definition of freaks...lol!

I had missed this
I get excited...err... alert around judgemental people - who says... errr... passes verdicts - you are *good*, you are *bad* - I mean they give their seal of approval. Obviously they put themselves in a pedestal and as you say *slot* people for their better understanding I suppose... their mould. It is even more *fun* when they figure out when they realize we don't *fit* into their mould. They quickly run away.
It tells me so much about them :)) The way their mind work. The box they are in.

Intelligence has nothing to do with being judgemental. infact I would imagine the opposite.
Well...we are all freaks of a different kind.
It not only stifles, gagging - it suffocates and kills.
they are plenty of freaks out there :))))))
Thought provoking girl... all cool :)

Oops my earlier comment seems to ...yeah it's easier to be judgemental than to be judged....thanks for the reminder...
